I love this.
While Chanel's Spring RTW collection may have received poor reviews, a tiny part of me loved Karl's ode to Americana. The denim was a tad overdone but it was the piles of tiny stars that adorned jumpsuits, 50's dresses and swingy trousers that signified a glorious return of fun in fashion. Stefano Pilati also played on this trend when he showed tangram like breastplates on his Spring runway.
In order to steer clear of looking like a housewife at a bicentennial parade somewhere in the flyover zone, keep the stars tiny like Kate Moss. Or maybe take those YSL's out on the town with a body conscious Herve Leger? So let's go be a little patriotic...America the Beautiful!
xx til next,
A
